SUSTAINABILITY OUR TYRES

To make the tire production more environmental friendly with the lowest possible impact on the environment, TOYO TIRES is using renewable, sustainable and recycled materials for the tires and solar energy for the tire production.

TOYO TIRES a sporty brand

In the new concept tire, which was launched in 2024 at the Tokyo Motor Show, TOYO TIRES showcased its first tire with more than 90% sustainable and recycled raw materials. This concept tire contains butadiene rubber, which is derived from CO2 emitted during the tire production process and would otherwise be a waste product. The carcass is made from biobased polyester, the steel belts and the bead core are made from recycled steel.

In the newly developed Proxes slick racing tires - which were used for the 24h race renewable raw materials such as vegetable oils, sustainable silica from rice husk ash and recycled wire were used for the bead core. Compared to previous racing tires, these tires are more sustainable and are also developed for high speed and performance on the track. These experiences from motorsport will be transfered to the development of Toyo next generation sustainable road tires.
